Job Overview
The Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) seeks to hire a highly motivated Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist to support GESI integration into PIC’s policies and Programmes as well as coordinate best practices at all levels of implementation.
Job Responsibilities
Program Management:
Provide strategic support to the PIC’s Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Program;
Work closely with program leads to support the effective delivery of GESI-focused activities across project cycles.
Support GESI integration (principles, minimum standards, deliverables) into program activities and functional units including human resources, grants, operations and others.
Work within the team to ensure that a sound gender analysis informs programme design and management, as well as identify strategic actions to be undertaken to improve the quality of programme implementation.
Support the gender systems strengthening portfolio through research, information management systems and sector-specific capacity-building programs for public, private, and development practitioners to equip them with skills to engage on gender and inclusion issues using a gender transformative approach.
Develop and maintain positive working relations with a wide network of partners, including government, development partners, parliament, media and NGOs.
Assist in the definition of gender equality indicators and targets, as well as in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative sex-disaggregated data; contribute to monitor and evaluating results against the indicators, to inform program and project improvements and strategic decisions.
Deliver high-quality gender-related briefs and progress reports for a range of audiences as required.
Support the Gender and Inclusion Summit activities, ensuring a successful delivery of the Pre-summit, Summit, and Post-summit.
Assist in the development of GESI policies and guidelines.
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Job Requirements
Master's Degree in Gender, Education, International Development, Public Health, or a related field.
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in gender equity and GBV program management, coordination, policy, advocacy, technical assistance, and transformative approaches.
Relevant experience supervising community-based social development and gender equality mainstreaming.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of local communities and customary rules.
