Job Title: Agronomist

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

• We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Agronomist to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in agronomy and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve crop production and soil management.
• This role is crucial in ensuring that our agricultural practices are efficient, sustainable, and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for effective crop production, including planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control.
• Monitor crop growth and health, and provide recommendations to optimize yield and quality.
• Analyze soil properties and recommend soil management practices to improve soil health and crop yield.
• Conduct soil testing and interpret results to guide fertilization and soil amendment practices.
• Conduct research on crop varieties, soil health, and farming techniques to improve agricultural productivity.
• Design and conduct field trials to test new crop varieties, fertilizers, and farming practices.
• Provide advice and support to farmers on best practices for crop production and soil management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of experience in agronomy or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using agricultural tools and technologies.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to rural areas.
