Job Title: Agricultural Extension Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Description 

• We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agricultural Extension Officer to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in agricultural extension and will be responsible for educating and supporting farmers to improve agricultural practices and productivity.
• This role is crucial in bridging the gap between agricultural research and practical farming.

Key Responsibilities

• Farmer Education and Training
• Provide on-site advice and support to farmers on issues such as pest control, soil management, crop selection, and irrigation practices.
• Assist farmers in adopting sustainable farming practices to enhance productivity and environmental health.
• Monitor the adoption and impact of new farming practices among farmers and collect data to assess the effectiveness of extension programs.
• Manage resources such as seeds, fertilizers, and farming equipment provided to farmers to ensure proper allocation and utilization

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using agricultural tools and technologies.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to rural areas.
