Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Finance Lead to oversee the financial operations of our rapidly growing organization.
The ideal candidate be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, including accounting, management reporting, financial planning, and risk management, to ensure the company's financial health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and manage budgets for the company.
Prepare accurate financial forecasts and reports to guide management decisions.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
Support business development and strategy
Accounting and Compliance:
Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations across our locations.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, company policies, and financial reporting standards.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Cash Flow and Risk Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Oversee credit control and debt recovery processes.
Collaboration with Teams:
Partner with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to align financial objectives with business goals.
Support fundraising and grant applications, including financial modeling and documentation.
Work closely with the GSMA project team to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
System and Process Improvement:
Develop and implement robust financial systems and controls to improve efficiency and transparency.
Lead the adoption of technology solutions to streamline financial operations, such as ERP integration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or CFA is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a fast- paced or start-up environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial software.
Proven ability to create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment. Prior experience in the food chain industry or emerging markets is a plus.
Experience in working with projects funded by grants or international organizations is highly desirable.
