The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a non-governmental, non-profit making coalition, made up of organizations with a shared vision to transform Nigeria into a country where every citizen has food and is nutrition secured. CS-SUNN pursues this lofty goal by engaging and mobilizing Government and Non-state actors to advocate for relevant policy implementation, raise awareness, generate evidence, build capacity and stimulate communities to scale-up nutrition in Nigeria, with special focus on maternal and child nutrition. The organizational capacity of CS-SUNN to become a leading voice on nutrition advocacy in Nigeria led to the SUN Movement Pooled Fund Project.

Role Overview
The Project Officer will assist in the implementation, management, and monitoring of CS-SUNN’s programs.
This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are executed effectively and contribute to our mission of improving nutrition in Nigeria.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in nutrition, public health, or a related field, along with experience in project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation:
Support the planning and execution of program activities in alignment with project objectives.
Coordinate logistical arrangements for project events, training sessions, and field activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to track project progress and impact.
Support organizational development of identified CSOs
Build capacity of CSOs on OD, Advocacy strategies, budget analysis and tracking, grant seeking and management, etc.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Collect, compile, and analyze project data to prepare reports and presentations.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
Ensure data quality and integrity through regular audits and validation checks.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with local partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support program activities.
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and community events to engage stakeholders and promote project initiatives.
Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare timely and accurate reports on project progress, challenges, and results.
Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets.
Document and maintain records of program activities, decisions, and outcomes.
Capacity Building:
Support the training and capacity-building efforts for project staff and partners.
Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the program team.
Advocacy and Communication:
Contribute to advocacy efforts related to program goals and objectives.
Develop communication materials, including reports, briefs, and updates, to share with stakeholders and donors.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that program activities comply with donor requirements and organizational policies.
Identify and assess risks associated with program activities and develop strategies to address them.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
Master’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Project Management, or a related field is a plus.
Professional Certifications:
Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in project management or coordination, preferably in the nutrition or public health sector.
Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
Experience with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.
Skills:
Strong organizational and project management skills.
