Job Title: Food / Laboratory Scientist

Location: Jos, Plateau

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Food/Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting food quality and safety assessments, performing laboratory analyses, and driving research and development of new food products.
• This role requires a strong background in food science, microbiology, or chemistry, combined with practical experience in laboratory techniques and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical, microbiological, and sensory analysis of food products.
• Test raw materials and finished goods to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Develop and optimize new food products, formulations, and processes.
• Evaluate the stability, shelf life, and nutritional value of products.
• Check humidity of products.
• Reviewing, washing and dehydration processing.
• Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FSMA, ISO 22000).
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate testing.
• Maintain detailed records of all experiments, analyses, and test results.

Qualifications and Skills
Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a food testing laboratory or a similar role.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microbiological assays.
