Job Title: Commercial and Litigation Lawyer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial and Litigation Lawyer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, litigation, and dispute resolution, with excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support to our clients across various industries, draft and review commercial contracts, and represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide strategic analysis on relevant cases, statutes, and legal precedents.
Commercial Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including sales and purchase agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, and joint venture agreements.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution proceedings, including contract breaches, intellectual property infringement, and competition law issues.
Client Advisory: Provide legal advice and support to clients on commercial law matters, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on regulatory compliance issues, including consumer protection laws, competition laws, and data protection laws.
Legal Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks for clients, including conducting legal audits and providing risk management advice.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, providing assistance as needed and ensuring that all client matters are managed efficiently and effectively.
Job Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree
Professional legal qualification: Bar qualification or equivalent.
Post-qualification experience: 2-4 years of experience in a commercial law environment (in-house or private practice).
Strong understanding of commercial law principles: Including contract, corporate, and intellectual property laws.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills: Both written and verbal.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Proactive, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with legal project management software: Familiarity with legal project management tools and software.
Industry knowledge: Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks in Nigeria, particularly in corporate, tax, labor, and compliance-related matters.
Client management skills: Experience managing client relationships and handling confidential information responsibly.
