Job Title: Peace Building and Social Cohesion Officer

Job Summary
The peace building and social cohesion officer will support the implementation of a social impact project in Borno state.
The roles will involve working closely with community structure and governance committee to identify a social impact project for rehabilitation and facilitate the launching of the rehabilitated structure in close coordination with the ministry of women affairs and social development.
Main Responsibilities
The Peace building and social impact officer will be responsible for the following, including those not listed but are extensions of those expressly stated:
Oversee the general aspect of the implementation, supervision and coaching of the governance structures in the community.
Carry out task respecting key protection principles including but not limited to Do No Harm, Non-discrimination, confidentiality and accountability,
Select 80% community members living at camp and host communities for the CfW activities. Ensuring equitable representation from both camp and host communities, with considerations for gender inclusion and demographics, in the CfW selection process.
Incorporate vulnerable women groups into the selection process for CfW opportunities to promote protection and gender-based violence (GBV) mainstreaming.
In coordination with local authorities, set up relevant governance and community participation structures, ensuring meaningful representation and voice for men/women, boys/girls, minority groups, and persons with specific needs as part of the cash for work.
Adopt participatory approach across all phases of the project, including needs assessment, planning, implementation, and feedback gathering, to foster community ownership and sustainability.
Conduct regular community consultations and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness to community needs and preferences.
In collaboration with ONSA, DDRR-related ministries, community stakeholders, organize a Lunching ceremony for the project in the community which will also strengthen social ties among community members.
Use the Lunch Ceremony as an opportunity to engage community members in discussions about the project's goals, objectives, and anticipated benefits, fostering a sense of ownership and collective responsibility towards its success.
Be a positive role model and demonstrate non-conflict resolving behavior
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to lead workshops and training sessions.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management and reporting tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Peace building, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
Relevant certification or training in peace building or reconciliation
Proven experience (3years) in supporting peace building activities in the communities in close coordination with relevant ministries.
