The University of Jos, a comprehensive public institution which started as the Jos Campus of the University of Ibadan in 1971, became a full-fledged University in 1975. The University which is situated in Jos, capital of Plateau State, a city of serene environment with near temperate climate in Nigeria is very conducive for learning and research. The University has a full-time academic staff strength of 1,653, senior technical staff of 216, senior administrative staff of 1,544, and junior staff of 604.

Job Summary
The Director of Health Services is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration, co-ordination and coordination of the University Health Services.
He/She is also responsible for coordinating the treatment of members of staff and their families as well as the students of the University.
Qualification and Experience
Prospective candidates should possess the following:
M.B.B.S., Degree or equivalent medical degree plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent. 3. In addition, he/she must be duly registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria
Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in clinical medicine and public health work in comparable health institution
Applicants must be ICT compliant.
Candidates should not be older than sixty (60) years on assumption of duty.
Qualification in Public Health and Family Medicine and a higher degree may be of additional advantage.
Condition of Service
The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years.
The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Director, Medical Services of Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the University of Jos Governing Council. Some of the conditions of service are stipulated in the Regulations Governing the Conditions of Service of Senior Staff of the University of Jos.
