Job Description
The Inventory Officer will be responsible for the accurate and efficient management of all pharmaceutical inventory within the warehouse.
This includes receiving, storing, and issuing pharmaceuticals, conducting regular stock checks, and maintaining accurate inventory records while adhering to strict industry regulations and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspection:
Receive incoming pharmaceutical shipments from suppliers, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
Inspect incoming goods for any damage, discrepancies, or signs of tampering.
Verify product expiration dates and ensure compliance with temperature-controlled storage requirements.
Prepare receiving documentation and update inventory records accurately.
Warehousing and Storage:
Properly store pharmaceuticals in designated locations within the temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cold chain requirements.
Maintain accurate records of temperature and humidity levels within storage areas.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential storage issues.
Issuing Inventory:
Issue pharmaceuticals to internal departments or external customers as per approved requisitions.
Verify the accuracy of issued items and update inventory records accordingly.
Prepare necessary documentation for inventory transfers.
Stock Taking and Reconciliation:
Conduct regular physical stock checks to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during stock checks.
Prepare stock reconciliation reports and analyze inventory trends.
Inventory Management Systems:
Maintain accurate inventory records in the company's inventory management system (e.g., ERP, WMS).
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the system, including lot numbers, expiration dates, and batch information.
Generate reports from the system as required, such as inventory turnover reports, expiration reports, and stock status reports.
Quality Control:
Monitor product quality and identify any potential issues, such as expired or damaged goods.
Implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those from regulatory bodies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or local equivalents.
Other Duties:
Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits.
Participate in process improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
Maintain good communication with other departments, such as purchasing, sales, production, and quality control.
Comply with all safety and quality standards within the pharmaceutical industry.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in inventory management within a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.
Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cold chain management principles.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and quality control standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
