Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Gas Turbine (TFA Mechanical)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Position Objective
This role serves as a company's technical Field Advisor (TFA) and administrative representative, resident engineer, and handles customer service assignments. It involves on-site preventive and scheduled maintenance, call-out services, and new unit commissioning activities on gas turbine product lines and packages.

Under applicable direction and instructions, independently determine and develop solutions to customer requirements and problems
Environmental, Health, and Safety:
Understand and comply with company and customer safety policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to the work permit system. Maintain safe practices and sites. Participate in general safety and toolbox safety meetings. Suggest safety improvements.
Quality:
Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. Conduct all maintenance activities in accordance with company policy, manufacturer's recommendations, and good practices.
Analyzing:
Possess basic knowledge of maintenance methods and experience with products and equipment associated with primary packages.
Project Monitoring:
Recognize abnormal sounds, vibrations, and potential safety issues early and take action to prevent serious hazards that could lead to equipment damage or production loss. Provide timely and daily reports to relevant managers on ongoing projects or daily work. Stay updated on pending work and personnel required to complete projects. Ensure necessary parts are available and submit materials requisitions when needed.
Reporting:
Provide accurate feedback and communication in pre-planned report formats. Maintain and update equipment histories to forecast equipment utilization and efficiency effectively. Coordinate necessary changes to ensure efficient operations with minimal downtime. Communicate and report effectively to immediate supervision and, if applicable, to customer representatives.
Problems:
Utilize sound judgment when analyzing problems. Resolve issues with minimal supervision promptly and cost-effectively. Master all procedures and options for identifying information sources and technical advice. Possess sufficient product knowledge to repair, remove, and install gas turbine engines, including components/systems, and interpret applicable drawings and technical manuals.
Scheduling:
Provide short- to medium-term scheduling of personnel and materials required for routine maintenance and plant commissioning.
Timing:
Engage operations strategically in releasing equipment timely for maintenance. Assist technically with operations and maintenance crew if workload exceeds available personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
Monitor maintenance services or installation support to ensure compliance with company policy, manufacturer recommendations, and safety standards.
Ensure major interventions are planned and executed on schedule and within commercial orders.
Qualifications
Verifiable over 5 years of working experience with gas turbines and rotating equipment in a related industry.
Computer literacy with MS Windows Suite, software applications, and basic electronic hardware handling.
Experience with recognized gas turbine product lines and/or extensive continuous occupation as a gas turbine engineer.
Technical qualification in University Engineering Degrees, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or extensive years of experience with equivalent certificates.
Experience in an onshore/offshore environment is essential.
Deep knowledge of rotating equipment packages is an asset.
Familiarity with Gas Turbine engine theory, package systems theory, and operational knowledge will be advantageous.
