Notify Health is an early-stage nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all Nigerian children receive life-saving immunizations. We use simple SMS and automated voice calls to help caregivers remember and track vital vaccination appointments. Research shows that up to half of missed vaccinations occur because caregivers are unaware of additional visits or forget to return. As a tech-focused yet pragmatic organization, we build on existing government systems and the widespread use of cellphones by partnering with local CSOs to collect essential information—such as a child’s birth date, name, and caregiver’s phone number—and send timely immunization reminders through our mass messaging system. Additionally, we explore other cost-effective innovations to increase vaccine uptake. This approach makes it easier for primary healthcare centers and caregivers to collaborate, leading to better health outcomes for children.
Notify Health is a small NGO with a BIG mission. We are fast-moving and constantly innovating our approach. We are looking for someone who is as energized as we are to solve undervaccination in Nigeria. As a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) officer at Notify Health you will have the opportunity to grow professionally while enabling the evolution of our program through high quality data. Notify Health has completed a pilot project in Kogi State where we enrolled more than 2,000 children in the program over 3 months. This year we are looking to expand our program to help more than 20,000 caregivers of newborn children across two states and this is only the start of our journey.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer, Nigeria
Location: Abuja / Kogi (Remote / Home - or Co-working)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract: 12 months with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Hours: Full time
Travel: Occasional travel may be required to Kogi or other implementation states, but requirement is low (e.g. <10% of time).
About the MEL Officer Role
As Notify Health grows to support more children across Kogi State and beyond, having rigorous, data-driven insights will be crucial for improving our program. Ensuring that our interventions are evidence-based, adaptive, and high-impact requires excellence in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
The MEL Officer is crucial for ensuring program quality by executing high-volume monitoring and evaluation tasks with efficiency and attention to detail.
This includes ensuring the accuracy and quality of field data, facilitating the digitization processes of paper records, and conducting routine data analysis and reporting for various stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities
We are a small and agile organization, and as such, the role may vary over time.

Support our data collection teams in maintaining data reliability and high-quality implementation through continuous quality assurance audits.
Facilitate direct measurement of our impact through cleaning large datasets.
Collaborate on Tool & Survey Design. Work with leadership to design or refine data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO).
Produce High-Quality Reports. Generate timely, user-friendly reports for various audiences—internal leadership, implementation partners, and government stakeholders—ensuring that each stakeholder can access insights relevant to them.
Support Capacity Building.Occasionally participate in training sessions or field visits to show partner staff and health workers how to collect data more efficiently, interpret program metrics, and maintain quality standards.
