Notify Health is an early-stage nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all Nigerian children receive life-saving immunizations. We use simple SMS and automated voice calls to help caregivers remember and track vital vaccination appointments. Research shows that up to half of missed vaccinations occur because caregivers are unaware of additional visits or forget to return. As a tech-focused yet pragmatic organization, we build on existing government systems and the widespread use of cellphones by partnering with local CSOs to collect essential information—such as a child’s birth date, name, and caregiver’s phone number—and send timely immunization reminders through our mass messaging system. Additionally, we explore other cost-effective innovations to increase vaccine uptake. This approach makes it easier for primary healthcare centers and caregivers to collaborate, leading to better health outcomes for children. Notify Health is a small NGO with a BIG mission. We are a fast moving organization, and are constantly innovating our approach.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Notify Health Program Manager
Location: Abuja / Kogi (Remote)
Description
We are looking for someone who is as energized as we are to solve under vaccination in Nigeria. The Program Manager role at Notify Health provides the opportunity for you to have a massive social impact and grow professionally as a key, early contributor to the organization’s culture and future.
Notify Health has completed a pilot project in Kogi State where we enrolled more than 2,000 children in the program over 3 months. This year we are looking to expand our program to help more than 20,000 caregivers of newborn children across two states and this is only the start of our journey.
About the Program Manager Role
As Notify Health grows to support more children across Kogi state and beyond, we will be impacting the lives of millions of children. A strong program manager at this crucial point will have an outsized impact on the trajectory of the organization and therefore the lives of many hundreds of thousands of children.
Evolving our programs to be robust, scalable and highly cost-effective, requires excellence in their design, implementation, and evaluation. The Program Manager will be working closely with Notify Health Co-founders and local partners, providing a crucial link between our leadership team and implementation on the field. They will also provide the creativity and knowledge needed to drive innovation in our program design.
Role Responsibilities
We are a small and agile organization and as such the role may vary over time. Typical responsibilities include:
Oversee day-to-day operations of a rapidly expanding program, starting in Kogi State and eventually extending into 2–3 additional states, ensuring seamless coordination with local partners and upholding high-quality standards.
Manage performance metrics and key indicators, guiding partners to meet ambitious targets and swiftly resolving challenges to drive overall program success.
Fuel program innovation by collaborating with Notify Health leadership, experimenting with new ideas, and adapting interventions based on field feedback to continuously refine and improve.
Engage with partners and frontline workers through site visits, technical support, and data quality checks, ensuring adherence to established protocols and consistent impact on the ground.
Strengthen training initiatives by contributing to the development and refinement of materials, and by facilitating workshops that empower local staff and health workers.
Foster and nurture positive relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and community leaders, to align efforts, share progress, and ensure long-term program sustainability.
Enhance reporting and documentation, offering valuable insights, improving data collection tools, and producing high-impact internal and external reports that drive continuous program growth.
Potential to grow into a managerial capacity supervising and mentoring other Notify health junior staff and direct reports
Delivering any other tasks assigned by the co-funders in line with the goals of Notify Health.
