We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Extension Officer - Soba, Kauru, Zaria

Location: Zaria, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• The Extension Officer will serve as the company’s representative within the assigned community, building relationships with farmers and ensuring the smooth implementation of the company’s agricultural programs. The role involves farmer registration, field mapping, input distribution, farm supervision, and grain recovery at harvest.

Responsibilities

• Introduce the company and its programs to farmers within the community.
• Identify, register, and map the fields of reliable and honest farmers.
• Distribute agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers, chemicals) to registered farmers.
• Supervise farms to monitor progress and ensure adherence to farming practices.
• Provide regular updates and feedback on farm progress to the company.
• Ensure the collection of the agreed quantity of grain bags from farmers at harvest without issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, ensuring trust and transparency.

Required Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Familiarity with agricultural practices and farmer engagement.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum of an OND / HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in fieldwork, agricultural extension services, or similar roles.

Other Requirements:

• Must reside within the assigned community.
• Ownership of a personal motorbike is mandatory (the company will not provide one for now).
• Ability to travel within the community for fieldwork.
• Passion for empowering farmers and improving livelihoods.

Remuneration

• Competitive monthly salary.
• Weekly fuel allowance for personal motorbike usage.
• Bonus on 95% Recovery from Framers at harvest
