Job Overview
We are seeking a responsible and friendly Cashier to join our hospitality team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions with guests, ensuring accuracy, and providing exceptional service.
You will also collaborate closely with the front desk team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cashiering & Transactions:
Process guest payments for accommodation, services, and other charges accurately and efficiently using the established payment systems. Issue receipts and handle any refunds or adjustments as necessary.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, assisting with billing questions, and resolving any concerns related to transactions. Ensure all guests receive a welcoming and professional experience.
Cash Handling:
Maintain accurate cash drawers and ensure that all cash and electronic transactions are recorded and balanced at the end of each shift. Prepare bank deposits and follow company procedures for handling cash.
Point-of-Sale System Operation:
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for both cash and card transactions, ensuring that all charges are applied correctly and that any discrepancies are immediately reported to management.
Billing & Reporting:
Assist in generating billing statements, reconciling receipts, and reporting any discrepancies. Ensure all financial records are updated and accurate.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Work closely with the front desk and housekeeping teams to ensure accurate billing for services rendered, including room charges, restaurant bills, and other additional services. Ensure smooth communication and resolution of any guest account issues.
End-of-Day Procedures:
Assist with daily cash reconciliation and closing procedures, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and any discrepancies are addressed promptly.
Compliance & Security:
Adhere to all company policies, including those related to cash handling, guest confidentiality, and security procedures. Maintain the integrity of financial transactions and guest information at all times.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification
1-2 years of experience as a Cashier or in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Basic knowledge of cashiering and financial transaction handling.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and financial transactions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in the use of point-of-sale (POS) systems and other cashiering software.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest inquiries or issues in a professional manner.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
Salary
N100,000 monthly.
