We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Legal

Locations: Mushin, Lagos and Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues. These may include:

• Advise on newly Proposed products
• Protecting intellectual property
• Financial offerings, financial structuring, securities offerings, compliance issues, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements and business strategic planning.
• Review contracts between the Institution and other bodies.
• Advise Management on legal issues and ensuring that the rights of the clients are protected
• Manage the Institution’s charged off loans and non- performing assets
• Provide legal counsel to recover outstanding debts from defaulting Customers.
• Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues.
• Examine newly published laws, acts and regulations and ascertaining how these affect the institution’s business.

Compliance Function:

• Act as the banks Compliance Officer when relating with regulatory bodies e.g. CBN, NDIC etc.
• Co-ordinate the writing and updating of processes, procedures and other guides relating to operations
• Keep abreast with and advise management of any new development in the market by a competitor, government or CBN that may have impact on operations
• Keep abreast with all government legislations and CBN policies that may affect operations and advise management on it.
• Ensure compliance with the number of day’s loans applications should be pending in orbit through the daily monitoring and communications in orbit. This is to ensure unnecessarily delay of files in branches.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 5 - 9 years work experience.
