An innovative Tech Startup based in Port Harcourt is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Officer to manage all aspects of Human Resources.
As an HR Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our team, ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions, and fostering a productive and positive workplace culture.
KeyResponsibilities
Recruitment and Talent Management:
Design and execute effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
Develop job descriptions, post advertisements, and manage candidate pipelines.
Screen, interview, and onboard new hires seamlessly.
Maintain a strong employer brand to position the company as an employer of choice.
Training and Development:
Conduct training needs analysis and design employee development programs.
Organize and deliver internal and external training sessions to upskill employees.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Create personalized career development plans for team members.
Performance Management:
Develop and implement performance appraisal systems.
Work with team leads to set measurable KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
Identify underperformance issues and implement corrective action plans.
Provide coaching and feedback to help employees meet their goals.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
Build a positive workplace culture aligned with the organization’s values.
Organize team-building activities, engagement programs, and wellness initiatives.
Foster a collaborative environment where employees feel valued and supported.
Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and implement actionable feedback.
HR Policies and Compliance:
Develop and update HR policies, handbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure the company complies with labor laws and regulations.
Handle sensitive employee relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary actions.
Conduct regular HR audits to maintain consistency and compliance.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
Manage payroll processing, employee benefits, and leave records.
Address payroll queries and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
Regularly review and improve compensation structures to stay competitive.
HR Data and Reporting:
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data confidentiality
Leverage HR tools to monitor and analyze HR metrics.
Prepare and present reports on recruitment, performance, and other HR activities.
Strategic HR Initiatives:
Collaborate with management to align HR strategies with business goals.
Support organizational restructuring and workforce planning initiatives.
Act as a change agent during transitions and implement new processes effectively.
Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace.
Administrative Support:
Support day-to-day HR operations, including handling inquiries and resolving issues.
Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and clearance procedures.
Handle employee documentation, including contracts, promotions, and transfers.
WhatWe’reLookingFor
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 2:1 or its equivalent is required. Please, candidates who do not meet this requirement should not apply.
HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD) is an advantage.
Experience: 3 - 5 years in a similar HR role, preferably in a tech or startup environment.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws.
Proficiency in HR tools/software.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
