The Head of Corporate Communications manages and oversees GYSAPEO's communication strategy.
This involves crafting and disseminating consistent messages to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive public image, and ensuring effective communication channels within the organization.
The head of corporate communication plays a crucial role in shaping GYSAPEO's reputation and enabling transparent communication.
Responsibilities
The Job Description of the Head of Corporate Communications includes but not limited to the following:
Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communication strategy aligned with GYSAPEO's mission and goals.
Cultivate strong partnerships with media organizations to ensure effective communication and collaboration, ensuring accurate representation of GYSAPEO's initiatives and maintaining a proactive approach to media engagement.
Oversee the organization's brand image, ensuring consistency in messaging across various channels and materials.
Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the public, ensuring effective communication and fostering positive relationships.
Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues, maintaining transparency and protecting GYSAPEO's reputation.
Lead the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, and social media, to effectively communicate GYSAPEO's achievements and impact.
Work closely with other departments to gather information and insights, ensuring a cohesive approach to communication efforts.
Develop and implement advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about key issues and promote GYSAPEO's mission.
Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing regular reports and analysis to inform communication strategies.
Lead a high-performing team of communication experts, offering strategic direction, mentorship, and encouragement to drive innovation and collaboration.
Engage with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, other NGOs, and community leaders, to strengthen partnerships and enhance GYSAPEO's visibility.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and target audience needs.
Educational Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, English or Literature, Journalism, Marketing, or any relevant field.
A Master's degree in Communication, Public Relations, and Business Administration is an added advantage.
5 – 7 years of progressive experience.
Desirable Attributes:
Proficiency in formulating strategies, plans, and programs to tackle complex corporate challenges, acknowledging their complexity and uncertainty, and assessing the repercussions of such strategies.
Competent leadership in ensuring optimal utilization of existing or emerging communication tools and media channels for effective communication.
Expertise in revising or refining complex communication materials to ensure purposeful structure, clarity of ideas, and a logically persuasive presentation of content.
Skill in comprehending complicated technical concepts for efficient communication.
Capability to oversee multiple high-profile projects with visibility.
Adept in establishing rapport with various internal and external partners.
Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive engagement, conversion, and brand awareness, leveraging market research, data analysis, and creative thinking to reach target audiences and achieve business objectives.
Proven ability to effectively manage and oversee a social media team.
Experience in advocacy, donor relations, or community engagement communication.
Training or certification in nonprofit management or communication for development (C4D).
