We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Strategy

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • The Head of Strategy will play a critical role in shaping W2A’s long-term direction, optimizing resource allocation, and driving sustainable growth.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of finance, business development, and market dynamics.
  • The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure financial strategies align with organizational goals while identifying cost-saving opportunities, revenue streams, and investment prospects.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and execute W2A’s strategic plans to ensure long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set clear, measurable strategic goals for the organization.
  • Align financial resources with strategic priorities, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Design actionable roadmaps for achieving strategic objectives across all departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate strategic projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and deliver measurable outcomes.

Financial Strategy and Resource Optimization:

  • Work closely with the Finance Department to evaluate budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to cut costs, reallocate funds, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Propose innovative funding and investment strategies to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or productivity.

Business Development and Growth Initiatives:

  • Identify new revenue streams, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Create and present business cases for investments and growth initiatives.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, investors, and key partners to drive strategic objectives.
  • Explore new markets and sectors aligned with W2A’s growth priorities.
  • Spearhead initiatives to attract foreign investment and business collaborations.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in the external business environment.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis and market insights.
  • Develop strategies to ensure W2A remains competitive and agile in a dynamic market landscape.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Work with department heads to ensure their plans align with organizational strategy.
  • Guide teams in implementing strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and other departments to ensure smooth execution of financial plans supporting strategic objectives.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure strategic outcomes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on strategic progress and outcomes.
  • Continuously track, evaluate, and refine strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with goals.

  • Identification and execution of successful growth initiatives.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or management consulting.
  • Strong background in financial analysis, planning, and modeling.
  • Experience in developing and implementing organizational growth strategies.
  • Proven track record in resource optimization and financial decision-making.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) for analysis and modeling.
  • Strong experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of trade, investment, and business development trends.
