Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary

• Tranquil Oasis Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Accountant to manage and oversee the hotel's financial activities.
• The ideal candidate will handle financial reporting, monitor procurement and storage reconciliations, manage salary disbursements, and oversee petty cash handling while ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support decision-making.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank accounts, guest accounts, and other financial records periodically.

Procurement and Inventory Reconciliation:

• Conduct checks on procurement processes and storage to ensure alignment with budgetary allocations.
• Reconcile procurement documents with storage inventory to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Salary Administration:

• Manage and process monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Maintain confidential employee salary records and handle tax or pension deductions as required.

Petty Cash Handling:

• Oversee the petty cash fund, ensuring accurate recording of transactions.
• Monitor petty cash usage to ensure funds are used appropriately and replenished when needed.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and hotel policies.
• Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary financial documentation.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

• Work closely with management to develop and monitor budgets.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and implement recommendations.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: 3-5years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Being practical on postings is important.
