Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Life Camp, Abuja (FCT)

Responsibilities

• Cost management:Quantity surveyors manage the financial aspects of construction projects, from initial cost estimates to final accounts.They prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
• Procurement:Quantity surveyors advise on procurement, tendering, and contract procedures.They ensure efficient procurement processes.
• Risk management:Quantity surveyors use their knowledge of the industry and past projects to predict and prepare for possible issues.They can reallocate resources if a project falls behind.
• Subcontractor management:Quantity surveyors oversee and value the work carried out by subcontractors.They manage and negotiate change orders.
• Measurement and estimation:Quantity surveyors review construction plans and prepare quantity requirements.They read and interpret construction documentation.
• Feasibility studies:Quantity surveyors conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
• Legal and contractual issues:Quantity surveyors advise on a range of legal and contractual issues.
• Valuing completed work:Quantity surveyors value completed work and arrange for payments.
• Liaison:Quantity surveyors liaise closely with all teams to keep the job on track.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND qualification with 3 - 10 years relevant work experience.

• Analytical thinking: Quantity surveyors use analytical skills to identify problems, examine data, and draw logical conclusions.They use these skills to review construction plans, estimate materials, and determine if projects are on schedule.

• Attention to detail: Quantity surveyors need to be able to pay attention to the smallest details to ensure projects are completed correctly.
• Cost management: Quantity surveyors need to be able to estimate, monitor, and control project costs.
• Contract administration: Quantity surveyors need to be able to prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts throughout a project.
• Time management: Quantity surveyors need to be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate with various parties.
• Financial management: Quantity surveyors need to have a good knowledge of financial principles, budgeting techniques, and cost control strategies.
• Construction knowledge: Quantity surveyors need to have detailed knowledge of construction processes, materials, and laws.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 Monthly.
