Job Title: Mechanical Shift Engineer & Power Plant Operator
Location: Agbara, Ogun
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer cum Power Plant Operator to join our team.
The candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Wartsila power plant engines and auxiliary equipment.
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of power plant operations and demonstrate expertise in mechanical systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
PowerPlantOperation:
Operate and monitor Wartsila power plant engines and associated systems to ensure optimal performance.
Perform start-up, shutdown, and routine operation of the plant equipment.
Record and maintain operational logs and report abnormalities.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance of engines and mechanical systems as per Wartsila standards.
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions promptly.
Ensure availability of spare parts and maintain inventory records.
System Optimization:
Analyze engine performance data to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
Implement strategies to enhance reliability and performance.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and system upgrades.
Prepare reports for management on plant performance and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 2 YEAR experience in power plant operation and maintenance, preferably with GAS engines.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical systems and auxiliary equipment.
Proficiency in using diagnostic and monitoring tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Key Requirements:
Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies.
Familiarity with GAS based power plants and substations, gas systems, Engine Management Systems
Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance in power plant operations.
Ideal Candidates will be resident in Agbara, Ogun State or willing to relocate to Agbara at their own expense.
