Job Description

• We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual to fill the position of Librarian.
• This is an exciting opportunity for someone who's passionate about managing a firm's customer database and legal research materials.
• Essentially acting as a key information resource for the legal team within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the operations of the law library, including cataloguing and classification of books and non-books materials, monitoring budgets, organizing and disseminating legal resources.
• Provide professional advice on how to store clients information.
• Develop and manage customer databases via the latest operating systems and applications.
• Conduct regular training and induction sessions on the use of the library to new hires and existing lawyers.
• Facilitate trainings on the use of emerging electronic resources such as Google scholar, electronic journals, on-line court, dockets legal-peadia, law pavilion and other legislative matters.
• Performing topical research for attorney blogs, newsletters on different practice areas.

Qualifications

• A strong passion for books, reading, and research.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• 3 - 5 years experience working in a library (preferably in a law firm).
• Ability to work collaboratively with other legal and business support staff.
• Ability to make excellent presentations with good verbal and written communication skills
• A positive, helpful, and proactive attitude.
• Minimum of 2.1 from an accredited university in library studies or any relevant field of study.
