Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemedicine Doctor to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide remote medical consultations, diagnose and treat patients, and offer advice through digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing quality healthcare in a virtual environment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities
Patient Consultations:
Conduct virtual consultations with patients via video calls, phone calls, or chat.
Diagnose and treat medical conditions based on patient information provided during the virtual session.
Prescribe medications or recommend treatments as needed, adhering to telemedicine regulations.
Medical Documentation:
Accurately document patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and patient confidentiality laws.
Telemedicine Technology Use:
Proficiency in using telemedicine software and digital tools for patient consultation, record keeping, and communication.
Troubleshoot basic technical issues during virtual consultations, ensuring smooth communication between doctor and patient.
Clinical Support and Follow-Up:
Provide follow-up care and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Offer ongoing health education to patients via virtual platforms, helping them understand their conditions and treatment options.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all telemedicine practices comply with medical regulations, license requirements, and telehealth-specific guidelines, including patient consent, cross-state licensing, and insurance billing.
Availability and Scheduling:
Flexibility to offer consultations during designated hours, possibly outside traditional office hours, to accommodate patient needs.
Ability to manage a steady flow of virtual consultations, adjusting to peak demand times (e.g., evenings or weekends).
Recruitment of Medical Professionals:
Collaborate with HR to define the requirements for medical staff recruitment.
Assist in the selection process, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making recommendations for hiring.
Ensure that the recruitment process is compliant with medical regulations and organizational standards.
Verification of Credentials and Licenses:
Conduct thorough background checks and verification of the qualifications, professional licenses, certifications, and experience of all potential medical staff.
Ensure that all doctors are properly licensed and meet all regulatory requirements for practice in the respective jurisdiction.
Review professional references and validate previous employment.
Educational Qualification and Experience
Medical Degree
A Bachelor of Medicine degree (MBBS) from an accredited institution is mandatory.
Medical school completion and clinical training (residency) are required.
Minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience, with experience in telemedicine or remote healthcare services highly preferred.
Medical License:
A valid medical license to practice from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Board Certification:
Certification by a recognized medical board.
Telemedicine Training:
Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, including video conferencing tools, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other telehealth-specific technologies.
Training in telemedicine guidelines and best practices is essential, including handling virtual patient interactions, maintaining patient privacy, and understanding telehealth regulations.
Skills and Competencies:
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with patients remotely.
Ability to explain medical information clearly and empathetically to patients through digital platforms.
Technical Proficiency:
Basic understanding of how to troubleshoot common technical issues (e.g., poor video/audio quality, system glitches) to ensure smooth consultations.
Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
