We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Experienced Business Development Officer (SME Loans)

Location: Lagos

Description

  • As a Business Development Officer, you will play a key role in expanding our SME loan portfolio by engaging and supporting businesses with financial solutions tailored to their needs.

Job Summary

  • We are seeking proactive and results-oriented Business Development Officers (SME Loans) to drive the bank’s SME loan portfolio growth.
  • The ideal candidates will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and maintaining relationships with SMEs, offering tailored financial solutions to support their business needs, and achieving set targets for SME loan disbursements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage potential SME customers to generate business opportunities.
  • Promote the bank’s SME loan products and services to businesses, ensuring alignment with their financial needs.
  • Conduct credit assessments and analyze the financial viability of SME clients.
  • Process loan applications, ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit policies and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SME customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely loan disbursements and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor loan repayments and proactively manage delinquent accounts to minimize defaults.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on SME loan performance, market trends, and competitor activities.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience in SME loan acquisition, credit analysis, or a similar role in a financial institution.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed loan disbursement targets.
  • Strong knowledge of SME business dynamics, financial analysis, and loan processing.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and financial tools.
