Job Profile
The incumbent will enhance the OPEC Fund’s Building and Facility Management (BFM) team by coordinating and facilitating technical consulting, engineering, and construction works for the Fund’s premises.
This role involves regular engagement with the Project Manager and selected construction contractors for renovation projects, as well as ensuring quality assurance across the BFM portfolio.
While the primary focus will be on renovation projects, post-handover responsibilities will expand to include other BFM tasks as determined by the Director of ASU.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates project interfaces for planning, design, and construction per OPEC Fund requirements.
Reports and communicates project issues to the task force promptly.
Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-conscious project deliverables.
Monitors and presents project progress to the task force.
Provides technical support for unforeseen project issues.
Assists in negotiations and prepares necessary documentation.
Establishes quality control measures for contractor services.
Ensures contractor work meets contracted requirements and manages deviations.
Manages scope changes to minimize time and cost impacts.
The annual workload includes monitoring maintenance contracts, providing project assistance and performing small-scale maintenance jobs, amongst others.
Oversees and coordinates maintenance works to ensure facilities are well-maintained and operational.
Performs any other activity within BFM and as assigned by Head, Buildings and Facilities Management
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Facilities Management, or any other relevant engineering-related discipline
Certification in Project/Program management is desirable. (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum).
A minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience,
Fluent in English and German. Good working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish is an added advantage.
