Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is one of the frontline National Non-governmental organizations working in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States with over a decade experience in providing humanitarian and development services in the North East Nigeria. It has partnered with numerous government agencies, National and International NGOs as well as UN Agencies in the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of programmes and activities aimed at improving the lives of rural and urban communities.
The organization has footprints across the focal states and has been engaging with communities through its network of field workers and volunteers. TCDI was established in 2008 and registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.), Abuja on 23rd May 2014 with registration number IT/69569 and other regulatory bodies in the focal states.

Job Title: Nutrition Officer

Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Nutrition Officer will carry out the following responsibilities:
Conduct Nutrition Risk Assessments at the community level in partnership with other stakeholders, during the course of the project.
To act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding, child, and adult Nutrition concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice
Supervise the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) staff.
Conduct capacity building and training of staff and CFM team on Nutrition-related thematic areas such as child Nutrition, GBV, Nutrition mainstreaming, and confidentiality of Nutrition data.
Provide capacity building and training to TCDI enumerators and community-based volunteers on the TCDI and WFP Code of Conduct and safeguarding principles.
Ensure that the “Do No Harm” and Humanitarian principles, Staff Code of Conduct, PSEAH, Nutrition and Safe Guarding policies are respected by all stakeholders.
Coordinate and develop activities for women-friendly spaces
Lead the Organization on awareness sessions and workshops on general Nutrition
Ensure the identification, management, referrals, and follow-up of Nutrition cases, with urgent needs.
Develop appropriate Nutrition key massages and IEC materials, and ensure that they are disseminated among the communities.
Disseminate relevant information regarding the rights of the person of concern and services available in the area in other to enhance access to services and rights.
Proactively seek to access people who have missed out on assistance, such as marginalized communities’ new arrivals or households whose situation has suddenly deteriorated
Ensure Nutrition is mainstreamed in TCDI/WFP programs in the field and workplaces.
Support and contribute to the field assessment, data collection and storage in a database, report writing, and sharing community feedback and concerns.
Report immediately any Nutrition breach during the implementation of activities to management.
Represent TCDI at Nutrition coordination meetings, both at the WFP and regional entities.
Coordinate and supervise facilitators during the session on women-friendly spaces.

Ensure to carry out any other duties that will be assigned by the Programme Manager.
Requirements
Candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees with 3+ years relevant work experience.
