Job Title: Sales Representative
Location: Lafia, Nasarawa
Employment Type: Full-time (Onsite Only)
Reports To: Sales Manager
Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Standard working hours, with breaks for religious activities as per company policy)
Job Summary
The Sales Representative will promote and sell LAJ Aquaculture's products and services to potential customers.
This role requires a proactive and energetic individual who is capable of building relationships with clients, generating new business opportunities, and providing excellent customer service.
The Sales Representative will work directly onsite, engaging with customers and driving sales for the company’s fish farming and feed production offerings.
Actively seek out and identify new sales opportunities in both existing and potential markets.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
Promote LAJ Aquaculture’s products, including fish and feed, to individual and corporate clients.
Understand customer needs and propose suitable solutions that align with company offerings.
Conduct in-person sales presentations and product demonstrations.
Follow up with leads and sales inquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication.
Customer Service & Retention:
Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
Managed customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and encouraged repeat business.
Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and after-sales support.
Sales Targets & Reporting:
Meet or exceed sales targets set by the Sales Manager.
Track and report on sales performance, including key metrics such as sales volume, conversion rates, and customer feedback.
Prepare and submit regular sales reports and updates to the Sales Manager.
Market Analysis & Competitor Awareness:
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitors.
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and the latest product offerings.
Monitor competitor activities and provide insights to adjust sales strategies.
Promotional Activities:
Represent LAJ Aquaculture at trade shows, exhibitions, and other promotional events.
Collaborate with the marketing team to execute campaigns and promotions to boost sales.
Assist in developing marketing materials and social media content to promote products.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales team, providing feedback on customer needs and market trends.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled correctly and efficiently.
Additional Note: This job description indicates the primary duties and responsibilities associated with the Sales Representative position. However, as directed by management, staff may be required to carry out other reasonable duties aligned with their skills, experience, and the company's business needs.
Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of a high school diploma or a degree in sales, marketing, or business administration is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in sales, preferably in the agriculture or aquaculture industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build customer relationships.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales management software.
Knowledge of the local market and customer preferences in Lafia and Nasarawa State.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle objections effectively.
Working Hours & Breaks:
Full-time Onsite: Standard working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (5 days a week).
Breaks: Per the company's policy, employees are allowed breaks for religious activities during the workday, integrated as part of the overall working schedule. Break times will be mutually agreed upon with the Sales Manager to ensure continuity of operations.

Overtime Policy:
No payment will be made for overtime unless it has been prior approved and authorised by the line manager and CEO. Any overtime worked without this authorisation will not be compensated.
Salary
The salary will be benchmarked against the current minimum wage in Nigeria (NGN 70,000), with a 50% supplement added for the Sales Representative role.
Current Minimum Wage Benchmark: NGN 70,000 monthly
Supplement: 50% of the minimum wage, totaling NGN 35,000
Total Monthly Salary: NGN 105,000 (for full-time onsite).
