Background
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has had an operational presence in Nigeria since 2015 and has experience working in 33 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the BAY states.
DRC provides life-saving assistance and protection to vulnerable, conflict-affected populations including IDPs, returnees, and host communities in the sectors of armed violence reduction, livelihoods, nutrition and food security, protection, shelter and non-food items (NFI) and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
The operational context in northeastern Nigeria remains challenging, as the ongoing conflict impedes conflict-affected communities’ access to what limited basic services are available, as well as DRC and other humanitarians’ access to persons of concern.
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Support Services Assistant role holds a cross departmental mandate supporting teams with logistical support, administrative support and other cross cutting tasks in support of DRC’s teams and activities in Mungono.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Logistics/Procurement/Fleet Management:
Support with logistics and procurement tasks (finding suppliers, local procurement, arrangement of deliveries, dispatch of goods, documentation linked with procurement).
Receive goods delivered to the location, including checking the amount, compliance with the contract, and invoice.
Handover of received goods to requestors and preparation of GRN, ensuring the requestor signed GRN and confirmed the receipt of goods.
Prepare PRs and RFPs for administrative tasks, such as rents, household goods, stationary, other office consumables, etc.
Be a focal point and support with fleet and warehouse management.
Support coordination of the use of vehicles and drivers in the most efficient manner.
Collect and check vehicle log sheets and monthly reports.
Support with the organization of warehouse following DRC rules
Support with managing and maintaining procurement tracker, fleet management report and stock checklist under supervision of Support Services Manager.
Ensure that fixed assets and program equipment are managed according to DRC policies.
Create/maintain up-to-date inventory of all DRC assets and general program equipment.
Minimum once per half a year, run a physical check of assets.
Track received assets for particular locations in the FA list and issue assets to users.

General Regulations:
The employee shall follow DRC instructions on safety, confidentiality and ethical guidelines, including the Code of Conduct and the Humanitarian Accountability Framework
Employee should not engage in any other paid activity during the DRC contract period without prior authorization
Employee should not engage in any activity that could harm DRC or the implementation of any project during the DRC contract period
Employee should not give interviews to the media or publish project-related photos or other material without prior authorization
Employee shall return all borrowed equipment for the project to DRC after the end of the contract period or upon request.
