The range of Utility Technician role varies between categories and technologies, but generally sits within the generator, compressors, HVAC systems, fire suppression systems.
The Utility technician is responsible for carrying out general operations and maintenance according to planned operational requirements to safely deliver a good quality utilities to factory.
As a core member of the engineering team the Utility technician plays an important role in maintaining line safety and will identify process or line issues to leaders.
What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, boilers, compressor and mechanical and electrical systems. Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and component replacements, to maintain equipment in optimal condition. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
Inspection and Troubleshooting: Regularly inspect utility systems to identify and troubleshoot issues, ensuring they operate within specified parameters.
Compliance: Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Emergency Response: Respond to utility system emergencies and perform necessary repairs to restore service.
Productivity: Operate assigned equipment in accordance with UL established SOP to desired result.
Autonomous Maintenance: Implement CLIT as recommended by the Checklist and Tag abnormalities

Setup and Configuration: Perform initial setup, configuration, and calibration of equipment to meet specific production or operational requirements.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor equipment and systems to identify and address any deviations, malfunctions, or technical issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that products or processes meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct quality checks and make adjustments as necessary.
Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations. Ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
Data Management: Collect and record data related to equipment operation, maintenance, and performance. Generate reports and maintain records as required.
Collaboration: Collaborate with technical teams, engineers, and supervisors to optimize equipment performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement process improvements.
Training: Stay updated on the latest technical knowledge and undergo training to enhance skills and adapt to new technologies.
What You Need To Succeed
Experiences & Qualifications:
OND in Engineering related fields.
Minimum of 3years experience in Utilities, Power plant generators and Boilers
Must be a current Utility Technician
Must have a proper understanding of Effluent treatment plant, compressors, generators and water treatment equipment
Applicant must be a committed team worker with a strong sense of responsibility and good attention to detail. Effective communication skills and an agile mind are essential.
Must be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc.
