A luxury pet store that provides people with a unique experience where they can explore different kinds of exotic animals. EPC provides different types of services from Pet sales, Veterinary clinics, Grooming, Pet Boarding, Pet Food, and Accessories.

Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Doctor

Job Overview

• We are seeking a passionate and licensed Veterinary Doctor to join our pet store on the Island in Lagos.
• The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care, perform routine check-ups, and offer advice on pet health and nutrition.
• This role requires someone who is dedicated to the wellbeing of animals, has excellent diagnostic skills, and enjoys working closely with pet owners to ensure their pets live healthy lives.

Key Responsibilities
Medical Care:

• Perform routine health examinations, vaccinations, and administer treatments for various pets (dogs, cats, birds, etc.).
• Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns in pets.
• Prescribe medication and treatments based on thorough medical examinations.

Surgical Procedures:

• Conduct minor surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and wound care.
• Handle emergency care and first aid for injured or sick pets when necessary.

Consultations and Advising:

• Provide professional advice to pet owners on preventive health care, nutrition, and general well-being.
• Educate pet owners about pet grooming, hygiene, vaccination schedules, and disease prevention.

Pet Store Collaboration:

• Work closely with the pet store staff to promote and recommend pet care products (such as food, grooming items, and health supplements).
• Assist in maintaining the health of in-store animals (if applicable) and ensure their living conditions are suitable.

Administrative and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate medical records for all pets treated, ensuring proper documentation of treatments, diagnoses, and prescriptions.
• Stay up-to-date with veterinary regulations and ensure the clinic operates in compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Veterinary Doctor in Nigeria with a valid practicing certificate.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical experience in veterinary care.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and decision-making skills.
• Passion for animal welfare and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
• Willingness to educate pet owners and build strong relationships with them.
• Proficiency in veterinary software and record-keeping is a plus.
• Available to resume immedialtely.
• Must reside on the Island.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a pet store or similar retail environment.
• Knowledge of exotic animals and their care would be an advantage.
• A friendly and approachable attitude towards pets and their owners.

Salary

• N120,000 - N200,000 / month.
• Competitive and commensurate with experience.
