Job Title:Product Manager - Payment and Collections
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Manager – Payment and Collections to join our team and lead the development and growth of our payments and collections ecosystem in Africa.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, managing, and scaling innovative payment solutions tailored to the unique needs of the African market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Development:
Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for collections and payment products, aligned with business goals.
Conduct market research to identify customer needs, emerging trends, and competitive offerings in the African fintech landscape.
Develop innovative payment solutions for diverse use cases, including merchant payments, bill collections, and cross-border transactions.
Product Execution:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, and operations) to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope.
Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
Prioritize features and improvements based on customer feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility.
Market and Stakeholder Engagement:
Build partnerships with key stakeholders, including banks, payment gateways, regulators, and merchants, to enhance product offerings.
Act as the voice of the customer, representing their needs and challenges to internal teams.
Engage with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local and international payment regulations.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze product performance metrics and use insights to drive improvements and optimize user experience.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transaction volumes, payment success rates, and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and present regular updates on product performance and strategic initiatives to leadership.
Innovation and Scalability:
Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and scalability in payment and collections processes.
Drive the integration of emerging technologies (e.g., mobile money, QR payments, digital wallets) into the product suite.
Lead the exploration of new payment corridors and methods to expand market reach.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in product management within the fintech, payments, or banking sectors.
Proven track record of successfully launching and managing payment or collection products.
Strong understanding of the African fintech and payment ecosystem, including mobile money and regulatory frameworks.
Skills:
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with APIs, payment gateways, and other fintech technologies is a strong advantage.
