We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Settlement and Reconciliation Officer to join our dynamic team at Bpay Limited. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily settlement operations, reconciling transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Your work will directly contribute to the seamless functioning of our payment processes and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Settlement Management:
Oversee daily settlement activities across multiple payment channels (e.g., cards, wallets, bank transfers).
Verify and process settlements from partners, financial institutions, and payment gateways.
Identify and resolve discrepancies or delays in settlements promptly.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile transaction data between internal systems, bank statements, and partner platforms.
Investigate and resolve mismatched transactions or discrepancies.
Generate and maintain detailed reconciliation reports for management review.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly settlement and reconciliation reports.
Analyze transaction patterns to identify anomalies or potential risks.
Provide insights and recommendations to optimize settlement and reconciliation processes.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all settlement and reconciliation processes comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and reconciliations for audit purposes.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Collaboration:
Work closely with finance, operations, and technical teams to address settlement-related issues.
Liaise with external partners, banks, and payment service providers to resolve transaction discrepancies.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of reconciliation tools and processes.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in settlement, reconciliation, or financial operations, preferably in the fintech or banking industry.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial management tools and MS Excel; experience with reconciliation software is a plus.
Attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of transactional data.
Familiarity with payment systems, banking processes, and regulatory standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Additional Attributes:
Knowledge of emerging payment technologies and fintech operations is an advantage.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
