Job Summary
The Brand Development Manager is responsible for managing multiple brand portfolios, ensuring their growth, relevance, and profitability in the personal care and beauty care sector.
This role requires expertise in brand DNA creation, product formulation, market intelligence, and strategic planning to drive successful product launches, competitive positioning, and market penetration.
The ideal candidate comes from a multinational company background with a proven track record in personal care or beauty industries.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy and Development:
Develop and define the DNA, positioning, and unique selling propositions (USPs) for multiple brands under the portfolio.
Drive the creation of innovative product formulations in collaboration with R&D teams, ensuring alignment with consumer trends and brand identity.
Plan and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
Market Research and Business Intelligence:
Conduct in-depth market research to identify consumer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
Utilize business intelligence tools to analyze data and provide insights for brand strategies and decision-making.
Monitor competitor activities and ensure the brand remains competitive and relevant.
Product Management and Innovation:
Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, marketing, and sales) to develop new products from concept to commercialization.
Ensure product formulations align with market demands and brand strategies while adhering to regulatory and compliance standards.
Regularly evaluate product performance and recommend changes to improve market appeal and profitability.
Marketing and Promotion:
Collaborate with the marketing team to design impactful promotional campaigns for brand awareness and sales growth.
Oversee the creation of brand assets, including packaging, digital content, and advertising materials, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
Manage budgets for marketing and promotional activities.
Route to Market and Penetration Plans:
Develop and execute strategic plans for market penetration, including channel strategies and distribution frameworks.
Work closely with the sales team to ensure effective distribution and retail presence.
Measure the effectiveness of market entry and penetration strategies and adjust plans as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with external agencies, suppliers, and distributors to achieve brand objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, including sales, production, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of brand initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience:
5 - 8 years of experience in brand management, preferably in a multinational company within the personal care or beauty care industry.
Proven expertise in launching and managing multiple brands.
Strong understanding of product formulation, DNA creation, and market penetration strategies.
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of market research tools and methodologies.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Creativity and innovation in driving product and brand development.
