Job Summary
The State Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of our MFB’s financial products and services including POS deployment, debit card sales, and loan offerings within the assigned state.
This role focuses on business growth, team management, client acquisition, and ensuring compliance with company standards and guidelines.
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven State Manager to lead, manage and drive the performance of our regional sales team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, financial services, with a proven ability to lead teams, analyse market trends, and execute strategic plans.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth:
Drive the expansion of Hillpost’s products, including Point of Sale (POS) deployments, debit card sales, loan offerings and savings within the assigned state.
Identify and secure new business opportunities with merchants, agents, and other clients to meet sales and revenue targets.
Build strategic partnerships to enhance market presence and product adoption.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and monitor the performance of Business Developers within the state.
Ensure sales teams meet their individual and collective goals through effective planning and support.
Provide regular training and updates to team members on Hillpost’s products, services, and sales strategies.
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain and nurture relationships with existing merchants, agents, and customers to drive retention and satisfaction.
Address client inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain trust and loyalty.
Operational Oversight:
Monitor the deployment and usage of POS devices, ensuring functionality and efficient support for merchants.
Oversee the distribution and activation of debit cards in the state, ensuring timely delivery to customers.
Ensure loan applications and disbursements adhere to company guidelines and are processed promptly.
Monitor the Acquisition of new customers for individual savings and current account
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure all operations within the state comply with regulatory requirements and Hillpost MFB’s policies.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and challenges to the Head of Business Development.
Monitor competition and provide insights to refine strategies and stay ahead in the market.
Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)
Volume and value of POS deployments.
Debit card sales and activations.
Loan disbursement figures and repayment rates.
Team productivity and sales targets met.
Client acquisition on savings and retention rates.
Compliance and operational efficiency within the state.
Qualifications
B.Sc in any of Business management, Marketing, Finance, or related field from a reputable University with a minimum of Second-Class lower (2.2) Degree.
Experience:
2 - 5 years in sales, financial services, and team management, preferably within the fintech or banking sector.
Candidate must be well experienced in POS deployment and management within the region being managed
Experience in coordination of Merchant and Agent Management
Experience in managing teams
Experience in POS Terminals retrieval
Candidate must be able to oversee debit card and POS terminal management.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in market analysis, strategic planning, and reporting.
Knowledge of financial products such as POS systems, debit cards, and loans is a plus.
