Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director - Operations, your responsibility will be to provide overall coordination, leadership and management of ACF programs and operations in Northwestern Nigeria, including Sokoto (main base) and coordination for Zamfara, Katsina and other States as needed.
Responsibilities
More specifically, your missions will be to:
Effectively manage and develop ACF Programming and Strategy in Northwest Nigeria:
Promote relevant, integrated humanitarian and recovery programming in line with country strategy
Ensure the development of potential partnerships and alliances in the Northwestern states
Examine possibilities for program expansion at both geographical and sectoral dimensions
Ensure Safety and Security of ACF personnel and assets:
Ensure development and maintenance of security network (formal/informal) at field level for the Northwest
Guarantee overall accountability for ACF Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics in the Sokoto Field Office, and the Northwest
Field representation of ACF and adherence to Mandate and Charter/Principles
Manage and support to local implementing partner(s):
Elaborate the mapping of the partners operating in the Northwest
Contribute to local partner selection process i.e. due diligence at the state and regional levels
Coordinate with contracted implementing partners for the concerned projects in the region
Ensure reporting, capitalization and contribute to quality and accountability
You will manage 6 direct reports and 34 indirect staff.
Requirements
You hold a Degree in Social Science, International Relations, International Development, Humanitarian Response or relevant field with significant experience (minimum 7 years) with INGOs in insecure setting in the same type of position. A previous experience with ACF in emergency and post-emergencies setting is an asset.
You are disciplined and you are able to work independently, under pressure.
You have excellent diplomatic, communication (oral, listening, drafting and written) and negotiation skills.
You have the ability to manage a large and diverse team and to organize, train and motivate a multicultural team.
You also have the ability to adapt to different situations and interlocutors, prioritize simple solutions accessible to all depending on the circumstances, and to make sound judgement when faced with difficult situations.
You master English, both written and spoken.
Benefits
Salary: UK2,597 - UK2,968 Pounds Monthly (gross) upon experience
Including 13th month.
Reimbursement of the pension insurance for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary
Annual salary increase: 6% increase after and each 12 months of continuous contract
Monthly per diem and living allowance: 837$ net, field paid
Monthly country allowance: 450€
Child allowance: 1500€ per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000€/year)
Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
Medical coverage: ACF covers 100% of the social security, health insurance, and repatriation insurance agreement fees.
Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year, airfare reimbursement with a ceiling to get to the chosen break destination, and 215 € for each RnR period
