Job Title: Program Manager - Family Planning
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Job Summary
The Program Manager Family Planning will coordinate all project related Family planning activities including Quantification. Commodity distribution.
Logistics Management Information System (LMlS) and Partners collaboration.
This will be achieved through close coordination with other Teams; Plan &Source, Forecasting &Supply Planning, Deliver &Return and Total Quality Management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Support annual National FP joint workplan development and supply chain inclusion
Monitor and align Family Planning Program activities with overarching project goals.
Work with Plan & Source team to ensure annual Quantification of Family Planning commodities and subsequent approval of the supply plan for commodity procurement.
Work with FHD to improve Commodity Order fi il rate for USAID-supported& states.
Liaise with relevant GHSC-PSM Teams to monitor long haul to axial warehouses for each distribution cycle
Regular monitoring of program performance on the NHLMIS: reporting rate, commodity stock out and provide feedback to relevant teams/partners.
Support the FMoH&SW to take the lead on pipeline monitoring of FP commodities and country inventory upload on the GFPVAN.
Support supply chain related activities led by the GOD e.g. Inventory intake at the CCW.
Support participation of the FHD in Supply Chain Fora; National Stock Status review, National PSM TWG.
Support FHD to head coordination efforts through the PSM and NRHTWG meetings.
Represent the project and provide program updates at the USAlD’s FP Partners coordination meetings and work closely with FP demand generation. service provision and other PSM partners to achieve commodity security
Participate in review of existing policy documents such as the FP Blueprint, and project contribution in implementation of same in supported States.
Manage stakeholders' expectations and feedback on project FP performance.
Liaise with RMs to ensure smooth working relationships with the FP Coordinators and promote the integration of the FP supply chain within the LMCUs.
Work with Regional Directors (RDs) to disseminate supply chain-related FP guidelines, and directions and monitor implementation in USAID-supported states.
Monitor weekly dashboard entry for TO3
Participation in project internal teams’ meetings to discuss FP updates and activities
Identify capacity-building opportunities for GON staff on FP supply chain and escalate to the SMT.
Ensure participation and showcasing of project accomplishment in relevant workshops and conferences, National Family Planning Conferences, National FP Technical Review meetings.
Contribute to global GHSC-PSM TO3 success through documentation and sharing of best practices.
Job Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Pharmacy, Logistics management, Science or Social Sciences.
Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in Health program, preferably in health care supply chain management.
Previous professional experience with international donor programs required.
ln depth knowledge of the family planning environment in Nigeria.
Experience in liaising with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to USAID, in- country Ministries of Health, GHSC-PSM project field offices. other USAID and non-USAID project field offices, international donors. implementing partners, and inter-agency initiatives.
Results-oriented professional capable of achieving targets and goals set in cooperation with the client, counterparts, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of supply chain concepts preferred.
Prior management and supervision experience preferred.
Ability to contribute to capacity-building efforts and work with colleagues in diverse cultures.
Ability to work independently and to manage various projects daily with minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other project staff, and other donors. consultants, the Ministry of Health, international organizations, and other stakeholders as relevant.
Computer literacy with demonstrated use of word processing, database, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent writing and communication skills in English required.
Supervision:
The Program Manager of Family Planning will report directly to the technical Director RMNCH Program.
Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment:
This is a long-term position based in Abuja, Nigeria, with travel to other states as may be required.
