This role will be responsible for driving the financial strategy and operations of our organization.
You'll lead our finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls, and strategic financial planning to support the company's mission of providing quality healthcare services while maintaining financial sustainability.
Job Description
Oversee all aspects of financial management for our healthcare facilities, including budgeting, forecasting,budgeting, recruiting,training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedure and financial reporting in compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and healthcare regulations.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's healthcare objectives and the Nigerian healthcare landscape and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Lead the annual budgeting process for all departments and provide regular budget variance analysis, considering the unique challenges of healthcare finance in Nigeria
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and financial institutions in Nigeria
Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and risk management systems tailored to the healthcare industry.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by senior management on issues such as service pricing, capital investments in medical equipment, and expansion plans
Lead, motive and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in healthcare finance management.
Oversee the accuracy of all accounting ledgers, including general ledger and cashbook transactions Ensure all ledgers are reconciled and updated monthly (i.e. income statement, balance sheet, Creditors Ledger, Debtors Ledgers, Prepayment Accounts amongst others.).
Control income, cash flow and expenditure.
Manages own budget with overall budget responsibility for each department.
Manages financial expenditure, including accruals, accounts payable, running costs, staff expenses, administrative costs, VAT & CIT, levies, taxation and other statutory deductions to government agencies
Researches, identify and resolves accounting errors and discrepancies
Ensures the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and reliability of all financial information Develops, reviews and implements credit control policies Facilitate debt recovery processes
Prepares regular (monthly, quarterly and year-end) financial reports and statements for management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Makes payment to vendors as and when due Builds and maintains customers’ confidence in company’s financial operations
Engages in recruitment, training and motivation of staff as required
Ensure appropriate Aasset management and recording Assist the HR Manager in the development of a policies and procedures manual - finance related policies
Stay informed about the latest developments in the finance industry. Other duties as assigned by MD Clinical & Administration, Medical Director, or Board of Directors.
Requirements
B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, etcc.
2 - 4 years of experience
Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook, Use of accounting software
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax laws, and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
Ability to work as a team player and work independently
Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving
Possession of analytical decision-making skills
Ability to train, motivate, and supervise subordinate staff
