Job Title: Programme Officer, Advancing Implementation of Non-Custodial Solutions

Summary
PRAWA is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as Programme Officer.
The Programme Officer will see to the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities within Lagos State.
He/She will engage with key stakeholders, including judiciary, law enforcement, and civil society organizations, to advance the implementation of non-custodial measures.
This role requires strategic planning, high-level advocacy, and capacity-building expertise. The officer will also support reporting to funders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate round table discussions with the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and correctional officers.
Facilitate specialized judicial training on risk assessment, sentencing guidelines, and non-custodial measures (probation, parole, suspended sentences, community service).
Supervise the development, validation, and dissemination of resource materials, templates, and model practice directions for the judiciary.
Organize awareness campaigns and develop IEC materials (flyers, pamphlets, social media content) to sensitize the public and promote non-custodial solutions.
Collaborate with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to ensure effective training, retraining, and targeted support for correctional personnel.
Coordinate meetings and peer-learning activities with civil society organizations (CSOs) to enhance monitoring and knowledge-sharing on non-custodial measures.
Prepare activity reports and monitor progress against key performance indicators.
Facilitate monitoring and coordinating visits with stakeholders and project partners.
Lead data collection efforts and ensure timely reporting on project outcomes.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in law, or other Social Sciences or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management, advocacy, or justice sector reforms.
Experience working on donor-funded projects, with a solid understanding of donor reporting requirements.
Technical Skills:
Experience in designing, implementing and managing projects related to criminal justice reform
Knowledge of non-custodial measures (e.g probation, parole, restorative justice, community service)
Proficiency in Microsoft suites and other data management software (such as Excel, SPSS, or Power BI).
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
Ability to engage with stakeholders (government, civil society, law enforcement, judiciary, correctional centers and donors)
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in facilitating training sessions and providing technical support to project staff and partners.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex data and generate actionable insights.
Problem-solving abilities to address challenges in project implementation.
Ability to develop and manage impact indicators and performance metrics.
Other Requirements:
Strong Interpersonal skills with empathy and sensitivity to vulnerable populations.
Experience working with government agencies, donors and NGOs.
Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / month.
