Job Summary

• The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• This role includes troubleshooting issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the installation of new equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Develop and perform routine maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Support the installation, alignment, and calibration of mechanical systems.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe work practices in all operations.
• Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Document work activities, repairs, and maintenance in logbooks or computerized systems.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a ND, HND, BSC Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field
• At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, mechanical testing equipment, and hand tools.
