Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Utilities

Job Purpose
The Utilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the planned preventive and breakdown maintenance of utility plants and equipment; including water (various forms), CO2, steam, electrical systems, compressed air, cooling plant, and effluent treatment plant. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of utility services. To perform all types of maintenance as defined for the plants and equipment, record and diagnose failures, and ensure proper related documentations.
Key Responsibilities
Execution of technical work in a safe way, ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are complied with.
Responsible to ensure that maintenance actions are executed OTIF to ensure machines run in accordance with standard procedures and standard conditions.
Perform machine rotations to ensure availability and reliability for operations, and availability for maintenance.
Participate in improvement teams to improve utilities generation, distribution, and consumption efficiencies.
Participate in BD analysis of machine(s) in work area to avoid re-occurrence, reduce minor stops, optimize maintenance cost, and improving maintenance performance parameters, such as MTBF and maintenance costs.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on utility systems, including water distribution, gas lines, and electrical systems.
Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues in utility plants and equipment.
Document maintenance and system performance records online (in SAP PM), and offline (in logbooks).
Collaborate with other departments and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and system failures promptly.
Participate in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
Experience & Academic Requirements
NABTEB, WAEC Technical.
Minimum of 3 years experience in production and maintenance roles, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
Able to read and understand machine operations, maintenance manuals, and general engineering documents.
Experience in BD analysis of plants and equipment failures, to prevent re-occurrence, reduce minor stops, optimize maintenance cost, improve maintenance performance parameters.
Proven good communication and collaboration skills.
Proven experience in utility maintenance or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of utility systems, including water, gas, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good knowledge of engineering and production safety practices.
Proven good commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Competency Requirements:
Basic use of MS Office, PM SAP documentation and reporting.
