The Automation and Electrical (AE) Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to supervise electrical and automation maintenance activities.
The role is responsible for coordination of automation and electrical personnel and other resources, for the installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automation and electrical systems and assets.
The team leadership role is responsible to collate and report automation and electrical maintenance and the performance KPIs; while working closely with other team leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Execute process automation system maintenance activities, and process control domain (PCD) business continuity plans and procedures for the plant.
Lead OTIF execution of planned and breakdown maintenance activities of all electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
Plan and implement the various types of maintenance, on all power supply and distribution systems and assets.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all automation and electrical assets and systems.
Conduct and report inspections, according to the schedules.
Assign tasks and monitor the performance of the teams to ensure high standards of work.
Coordinate maintenance trainings for mechatronics technicians and automation & electrical personnel.
Coordinate safety trainings and ensure safety compliances in automation and electrical activities, workshops, and control/panel rooms.
Maintain offline and online records of automation and electrical maintenance activities, and material usages.
Implement and sustain emergency preparedness plans for automation and electrical workshops, and control/panel rooms.
Ensure prompt and effective response to automation and electrical machine and equipment failures and emergencies.
Carry out routine inspections required for compliances with standards, such as HACCP, Machine Safety, etc.
Prepare regular performance and status reports for management, outlining system performance, maintenance activities, and project progress.
Experience & Academic Requirements
NABTEB, WAEC Technical, OND in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years experience in production and maintenance roles, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
Experience in collating and reporting maintenance data.
Experience of focused improvement maintenance (FIM) planning and execution.
Expertise in electrical systems, automation, and control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, etc.).
Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance skills.
Good knowledge and experience of manufacturing industry safety standards and practices.
Experience in collating and reporting maintenance data.
Experience of focused improvement maintenance (FIM) planning and execution.
Good experience of preventive maintenance and engineering systems.
Proficiency in use of SAP PM, or other CMMS, and Microsoft Office.
Able to read design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other engineering systems and tools.
Strong team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate teams.
Be good at explaining technical processes to both technical and non-technical audience.
