Job Title: Security Coordinator - Deep Offshore Project / Assets
To manage production and project security risks in the offshore operational environment to As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
This will entail the provision of an integrated security management system to cover production and project activities deep and shallow off shore, security logistics support both onshore and offshore, project and production activities onshore
Provide coordination/supervision to Security Liaison Officers/Field Security Supervisors and provision of specialist advice and guidance to Asset and Project Managers on all issues relating to current security threats and risk management, among others.
Responsibilities
Develop, adapt, deploy and embed requisite standards and provide assurance that security service for Project and production offshore is in accordance with Group and Industry standards.
Carry out security risk/vulnerability assessments.
Implement security strategy for all assets and projects.
Provide security input into all project investments decisions.
Provide security input into asset/project maturation and development from concept to delivery.
Drive creativity, innovation and improvements in security practice.
Provide security awareness.
Implement Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) and the Arm’s Length Approach (ALA) / Shell Guidance on the use of arms
Manage security, security requirement and input for all stages of projects in the offshore space
Key Challenges:
Understanding the security dynamics across the Niger Delta and Gulf of Guinea and implementation of controls based on robust security risks assessment.
Managing relationships with host, impacted marine and onshore communities, and understanding of the power mapping across these interfaces.
Ability to manage and work with GSA commanders to get support, especially in the maritime space.
Managing multiple marine escorts, while maintaining peace within area of operation.
Work closely with the security intelligence and surveillance team; including knowledge of appropriate technical security requirements.
Maintaining the flexibility of security resources deployment to cope with the uncertainties in the multiple program scenarios
Seeking and implementing synergies and economies of scale with other offshore operators in Nigeria
Requirements
What We Need from you?
At least a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution. Post graduate qualification in relevant fields will be an advantage.
Professional industrial security certification (PSP and/or CPP) from ASIS or equivalent body will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of E&P business, especially in the Offshore environment.
At least 10 years of relevant experience – at least 5 years industrial security experience in managing security in complex environment.
Good knowledge of E & P business and understanding of Niger Delta and Gulf of Guinea environment.
Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in leading and managing teams.
Demonstrable Collaboratory mindset to harvest internal and external stakeholders to enable strong networks beneficial to the security of Offshore assets and projects.
Ability to manage and drive cost reduction: drive creativity and innovation.
Good verbal and written communication skills; strategic thinker with good data management skill
Creative, imaginative and stable in character, well organized and skilled at persuasion which are essential for collaborating with internal stakeholders and for interfacing with other external stakeholders
Result oriented team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to perform under pressure in a demanding multitasking environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
