Responsibilities
Vacancy for the position of General Manager of an Event / Recreation Centre

• The right candidate should be a graduate of a reputable tertiary institution, must have either worked in an event management company at middle-level management for at least 5 years or have a track record of driving business growth, preparing budgets and profitably managing and reporting performance of a corporate structured business organisation. Our candidate must be able to provide leadership for business development and marketing; health safety and environmental requirements for all events and recreational activities/operations.
• He/she must be a creative and passionate leader with strong communication skills and the capacity to make and manage money. Our preferred candidate must be innovative, a strategic thinker who puts the interests and satisfaction of the critical stakeholders: customers, shareholders and staff ahead of personal interest.

Other Requirements & Job Functions:

• General management of the people and resources of the organisation to achieve targets, budgets, and goals as well as ensuring preventive maintenance of the assets and properties of the company.
• Manage external relationships, including business prospects, customers, vendors and statutory organisations.
• Responsible for profitability performance, strategic cost management, strategic initiatives as well as customer growth and cash flow management to achieve targets, budgets and corporate goals.
• Responsible for safety, periodic reporting covering performance management, exception reporting, event and gym activities, milestone reporting, asset register, repairs and maintenance register.
• Any other responsibilities assigned.

Compensation

• A fixed emolument during the probation period plus generous commission tied to the turnover of the business.
