Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Reconciliation Officer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled between internal systems and external financial institutions or third-party services.
This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the seamless execution of payment processing, reporting, and financial analysis
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation of Financial Transactions:
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of payment transactions between internal systems, external payment gateways, and third-party processors.
Identify discrepancies between transaction records and resolve them promptly.
Ensure that all financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, fees, and refunds, are accurately reflected in financial statements.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and generate reconciliation reports for management and auditors, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Maintain a detailed and organized record of reconciliations for easy access and audit purposes.
Assist in preparing reports for financial close, ensuring all reconciliation tasks are completed on time.
System Integration and Maintenance:
Ensure that all internal systems are accurately updated with the latest transaction data.
Collaborate with technical teams to identify and resolve system issues that may impact reconciliation processes.
Continuously monitor the integration of fintech software with external payment processors, ensuring smooth transaction flows and data consistency.
Discrepancy Investigation and Resolution:
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external sources.
Work closely with customer service and other departments to address any client or partner issues regarding financial transactions.
Follow up on unresolved reconciliation issues, escalating them when necessary.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure that reconciliation processes adhere to company policies and relevant regulatory standards.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and resolving queries related to financial discrepancies.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security of financial data in line with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with finance, operations, and IT teams to improve reconciliation processes and address any challenges.
Communicate effectively with external partners, such as banks, payment processors, and other financial institutions, to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
2 - 5 years of experience in reconciliation, accounting, or finance operations, or accounting.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g.; QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
Familiarity with financial systems and banking platforms used in the fintech industry.
Understanding of payment processing systems, digital wallets, and transaction flows.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to assist in report generation and data analysis.
Experience with automation tools for reconciliation processes.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
