Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
Develop and manage budgets based on project scope.
Maintain and implement construction performance/budget for each project.
Manage the contractual and financial side of our construction projects.
Manage the costs of construction projects as well as help to ensure that our projects are completed within budget.
Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, research new materials for design and cost savings, and develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification.
Contract Administration:
Resolve disputes and manage contractual issues.
Maintain subcontractor and supplier insurance policies; assist in ensuring awareness and company compliance to all building codes and local construction guidelines and maintain company quality control program.
Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work; meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site as necessary.
Procurement:
Source and procure materials and services needed for the project.
Evaluate and recommend suppliers and subcontractors.
Issue purchase orders for procurement and expedition of materials and equipment for jobs.
Cost Control:
Monitor and report on project expenditure.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and address variances.
Ensure compliance with project budgets and provide analysis of deviations, ensure accurate takeoffs to ensure budgets are accurate.
Valuations and Payments:
Prepare valuations for progress payments.
Ensure accurate and timely payments to contractors and suppliers.
Project Coordination:
Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans.
Final Accounts:
Prepare final accounts and manage project closure financially.
Ensure all documentation and costs are accounted for.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 4 - 10 years relevant working experience in building construction, especially costing quantities for MEP in well a structured environment and must be a Registered Surveyor
Membership of a professional body in the related field is an added advantage.

Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in taking bills of quantities for buildings and finishing works
Very good attention to details
Good AutoCAD skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suites.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in construction-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, or specialized QS tools like CostX).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and market trends.
Understanding of legal and contractual requirements in construction.
