Responsibilities
Oversee daily logistics operations to ensure the smooth functioning of supply chain activities.
Manage transportation and delivery schedules to meet customer demands efficiently.
Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock tracking and timely restocking.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance logistics processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for process improvement.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless integration of logistics with overall business operations.
Lead, coach, and inspire the logistics team to drive high performance and operational excellence.
Address and resolve any logistical issues or discrepancies quickly and effectively.
Keep detailed records of logistics activities and generate regular reports for management.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to secure favorable terms.
Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for logistics staff.
Conduct audits regularly to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve logistics practices.
Oversee logistics budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries to customers while maintaining a high standard of service.
Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods.
Implement and leverage technological solutions to streamline logistics processes and improve decision-making.
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the capabilities of logistics staff.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
Proven experience in managing logistics operations and leading a team.
In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Capable of leading and motivating a team to achieve operational goals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and other related technologies.
Experience managing budgets and optimizing cost-efficiency in logistics operations.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying trends and optimizing processes.
Experience negotiating with suppliers and service providers to secure beneficial contracts.
Solid understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
