Position Objective
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records across the organization's stores and distribution centers.
This role involves planning and coordinating physical inventory counts, identifying discrepancies, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing actionable insights to optimize inventory management processes.
The ultimate goal is to support operational efficiency and prevent financial discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management and Coordination:
Schedule physical inventory counts in collaboration with the Sales Manager for stores and the Logistics Manager for distribution centers.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive counting lists are prepared, containing all items for inventory checks.
Distribute counting lists to the Area Manager and Logistics Manager to facilitate the inventory process.
Data Accuracy and Issue Resolution:
Verify all administrative documents required for inventory counts, including delivery notes, credit notes, and write-off documentation, are complete and available.
Assist in resolving issues or discrepancies encountered during inventory counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Reporting and Documentation:
Report any significant discrepancies or operational challenges discovered during inventory counts to the Accounting Manager.
Prepare detailed inventory reports summarizing the outcomes of physical inventory counts and document necessary adjustments.
Ensure all inventory adjustments are accurately recorded and supported by proper documentation.
Error Identification and Process Improvement:
Identify administrative errors or systemic issues leading to incorrect inventory results and recommend corrective measures.
Provide actionable insights for improving inventory accuracy and reducing errors, aligning with organizational goals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Inventory Accuracy: Percentage of accurate inventory records post-counts.
Discrepancy Resolution: Time taken to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Process Adherence: Compliance with inventory management policies and procedures.
Reporting Quality: Timeliness and accuracy of inventory reports.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related role.
Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies:
