The Job Description
The Technical Sales Engineer will drive business growth through technical expertise, client engagement, and strategic sales efforts.
This role is pivotal in building and maintaining client relationships, identifying opportunities, generating leads, closing deals, and ensuring business regeneration.
The successful candidate will bridge technical and sales functions, delivering tailored solutions in Transportation Systems and Electrical and Automation Solutions to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
Conduct detailed market research to identify potential clients, industries, and geographical areas for CaTS' services.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Build a database of potential clients, partners, and projects.
Lead Generation, Prospecting and Relationship Management:
Develop and execute robust lead generation strategies, including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking.
Qualify leads to ensure alignment with CaTS’ capabilities and target market.
Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering excellent pre-sales and post-sales support, driving repeat business and referrals.
Technical Consultation and Solution Presentation:
Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to gain a deep understanding of CaTS’ offerings.
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and demonstrations tailored to client requirements.
Effectively communicate technical concepts in a simplified manner to clients.
Sales Pipeline Management:
Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline to track leads from prospecting to deal closure.
Regularly report sales progress, performance metrics, and market insights to the HOB.
Identify and resolve potential roadblocks in the sales cycle.
Negotiation and Deal Closure:
Skillfully negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
Close profitable deals that align with CaTS’ revenue targets and growth strategies.
Client Retention and Business Regeneration:
Develop and implement strategies for client retention and long-term engagement.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services.
Ensure seamless onboarding for new clients and foster strong client relationships post-sale.
Collaboration with Technical and Engineering Teams:
Act as the primary liaison between clients and technical teams to ensure project alignment.
Provide feedback from clients to technical teams for continuous improvement.
Support smooth project transitions from sales to service delivery.
Training and Development:
Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and certifications.
Continuously enhance sales, negotiation, and technical skills.
Organize and facilitate client and partner training sessions on CaTS offerings.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities.
Prepare detailed sales performance and strategy reports for management review.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in either Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or any Business Degree, Sales/Marketing, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or a similar role.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in an industrial or technical environment.
Skills:
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client engagement.
Strategic thinking with a results-oriented approach to sales.
Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting.
