Job Description
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications.
Design user-friendly interfaces for internal systems, donor portals, beneficiary platforms, and other digital tools.
Ensure all designs align with the organization’s branding and accessibility standards.
Conduct user research to understand the needs, preferences, and pain points of stakeholders.
Organize usability testing sessions and analyze feedback to improve designs.
Develop user personas and journey maps to guide the design process.
Work closely with the IT team to ensure designs are technically feasible and optimized for implementation.
Collaborate with program teams to understand project objectives and translate them into intuitive designs.
Liaise with external developers, if applicable, to ensure designs are effectively executed.
Design interfaces that are accessible to a diverse range of users, including those with disabilities.
Advocate for inclusive design practices that align with the NGO's values and global standards.
Continuously monitor the performance of digital platforms and identify areas for improvement.
Update and refine designs based on user feedback and organizational goals.
Stay updated on UI/UX design trends, tools, and technologies to incorporate best practices.
Minimum Recruitment Standard
Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in Design, such as UI/UX, Product management, Project management and Customer relationship management are a plus.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar software. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects (websites, mobile apps, dashboards, or internal tools).
Hands-on experience with end-to-end design processes, from user research and wireframing to prototyping and final implementation.
Proven ability to design user interfaces that solve real-world problems, particularly in resource-constrained environments.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Ability to navigate the dynamics of NGOs, including collaboration with program teams, funders, and community representatives.
Demonstrated experience conducting user research and usability testing, analyzing results, and iterating on designs.
Familiarity with designing for a wide range of users, including those in low-resource settings or with limited technical skills.
Strong sense of typography, color theory, layout, and branding, ensuring cohesive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
